First, here's an application of the 'Circle with fixed radius' tool .

Construct a triangle with sides 8, 6 and 5:

  • Select the “Circle with fixed radius” tool
  • Click on A, then somewhere else in the window. The “Edit Circle” dialog box will appear.
  • Enter 5 in the ‘Radius” field. You may leave "fixed" checked (if you uncheck the box, then you can resize the circle by dragging with the right mouse button).
  • Click  "OK" to close the dialog box
  • Follow a similar procedure to create a circle centered at B with radius 6.
  • Create point C at the intersection of the two circles
  • The “Well Done!” dialog box should appear.
