Currently, the big software companies are collecting thousands of patents,
most of them of trivial and self evident content. Clearly, the aim is to push
universities, small companies, free developers out market as soon as the
European community decides that software and computer procedures can be
patented. It could be the end of open source and free software. Neither me, nor
my university have the means to defend against trivial software claims in court
even if our success would be sure. Please support our fight against software
patents.
I wish to express my gratitude to the following persons and institutions.
